HERO
HERO.
HERO.
We all have that one hero that we look up to, be it our parents, teachers, aunts or even friends.
So who is a HERO? To me that is a person who displays courage in the face of danger and is admired for their brave deeds or noble qualities. But the word hero comes from the greek word ἥρως (hērōs), which is warrior, defender or protector.
There are special characteristics that make up a true hero.
We have very many heroes in our societies. For one, we have the late Wangari Maathai, who inspired very many people to keep our land green and respect mother earth by planting trees.
We also have the late Martin Luther King who fought for the rights of the black people in America.
Also we have the very first black president in America, Barack Obama who teaches us that we can achieve anything that we want to if we set our minds to it (Yes We Can).
But to me my hero is my mother and father. They have sacrificed a lot of things in their lives so that I can have a good life. They have been there for me through the tough times and also the good times. They are the perfect example of good parenthood and I would like to be as good a parent as they were to me.
I hope to be someone’s hero one day, I hope I will be the best that I can be.
Xoxo,
African Queen.
