STORY OF A SPONSET

This is the story of Jane the sponset.

A sponset is someone who is being sponsored by a sugar daddy.

“I was a bright student pursuing my degree in one of the best universities in the country. Though my parents were not rich they always gave me the best they could afford. I had a handsome boyfriend full of hopess and dreams.

I had my life going for me until one day me and my friends decided to go out at a new joint. There we ran into some prominent men and decided to allow them join us and have fun.. My new catch was called john. This later became a habit of going out to have fun with my new man. John spoilt me with gifts and money and soon enough my relationship with my boyfriend started failing. After a while i checked out of campus hostels and john rented me a house. His boys came with a lorry full of home appliances and equipments.  Slowly by slowly i stopped going to classes as i was always on a safari with john. Life was great and i decided to dump my pocket change boyfriend. My friends were so jelous of me because i had a great life with a man that showered me with gifts and money.

One day i got sick and john sent his  driver to take me to the hospital. The doctor did some tests and brought me the results. I could not beleive it. I got very agry, insulted the doctor for being a quark and giving me false information. Went to another hospital to get a second opinin and the results were the same. I was in shock and very sad. I called john to give him the news. That was the last time i ever heard from him. A few weeks later the same lorry that brought me my household items came and carried everything away.

I was all alone, john changed his number, my friends don’t pick up my calls and in a house i can’t afford. I moved back home to the village to my fathers house, who is not speaking to me because I brought shame to his name, and disappointed mother who looks at me with sadness is her eyes as if she’s watching her dreams fly away.

Now I’m bedridden depending on family for everything and the village example parents use to warn and scare their children.

I share this story with tears in my eyes hopping it will help someone out there make the right decision and not fall into the temptation of money.

If only I had known and stayed with my pocket change boyfriend. ”

Xoxo,

African Queen.
